| I GOT INTO GRAD SCHOOL!
It's a five-year program that will keep me at Yale for one additional
year, during which I will earn my Master's in Public Health.
YAAAY!
SO excited! Words cannot express. Really.

| so i've got an hour to write this stupid reading response thing on a book that i haven't read. this time it's not my fault though. i've been trying to get the book from the library, which stupidly only has one copy, and i was not going to pay $48 for one book. nuh uh. instead, i'll tell you what's new...
-i got an interview at the school of public health! i really really REALLY want to get into this five-year program. i would stay at yale one more year after graduation and earn my masters degree in public health, probably concentrating in health policy or social & behavioral sciences. i am so excited but nervous and have a long list of prep things i have to accomplish before the interview next friday. including suit shopping, yes!
-rob and i have been dating for like a month and a half now. to be perfectly honest, i'm still rather incredulous about the whole thing. i can't believe that it's happening to me.
-i am spending the summer in new haven. not going home at all, though i might take a trip somewhere in august. i'll be taking physics + lab (ahh med school requirements...), researching w/out getting paid with one of my repro bio profs (ahh i really want a med school recommendation from him), and working part-time at both media services and student health outreach to make $. i think overall the summer is going to put me in the red, which is wildly unfortunate. :-/
-i'm not doing as well in some of my classes as i would like, but there are a bunch of huge papers/projects and finals coming up. i hope i can redeem myself and don't die from exhaustion.
-repro lab is the coolest! we did in-vitro fertilization in mice the other week, and next week is genetic engineering.
-i am working as a reunion head clerk, and last week i had to email howard dean... to tell him that he didn't have to pay as much money as he had, haha. i also have his credit card information... mwahaha! just kidding.
i hope you are all doing well. take care and keep in touch. |

| everything always works out in
the end. it's miraculous, really. i don't know how it
happens, but i don't need to know. we should all just stop
stressing so much and enjoy life more. this is the indispensible
insight brought to you by a sleep-deprived college student who should
be doing a reading response due in half an hour or studying for an exam
tomorrow instead of blabbing on xanga. brilliant.
